Rusted door latch and hinge screws..removal ideas??

I'm just wanting to see if anyone had a trick that they could pass along for removing rusted, original door latch and hinge screws on my '27 roadster doors? I know I could heat them, drill them etc but thought that I'd see what else there might be.
Thanks!!

Bugsy, I have one of those impact screw drivers that you hit with a hammer that will sometimes get them started moveing. Good luck.

Soak them over and over with "Home Brew" a 50/50 mixture or acetone and atf. This mixture has been proven to be the most effective "nut buster". Better than Kroil, better than PB Blaster and Liquid wrench.

Last resort is to drill them out, ruins the captive nut in the door posts, and those are special fine thread counter sunk head machine screws too. Use penetrating oil, impact screwdriver with bit to exact match the cross slot. Or heat.

BUGSY .......................
Instead of destroying them, ask yourself, "Do I really need to remove those screws ?".
MIKE :)

Thak you all for the advise and tmodelman for the pics. Mike...I agree, I don't really even want to remove them but I have a door latch that has to be replaced along with a hinge on my other door.

For what its worth, I have had great luck with the aerosol PB Blaster. It seems to get into the tightest of places, including blind holes with captive screws. Kroil is also great. Might want to try these before you drill the screws out.

Bugzy, another thought. Why not replace just the pin in the hinge. If necessary, install an oversized pin. The hinge would not have to be removed. Damage to the lock from drilling will be much easier to deal with.
