Running board trim

My Zinc running board trim is in very nice shape but it looks like it needs to be cleaned up. Has any one had any luck polishing this trim up to look nice.

Thanks for the link Mike. I was planning on picking up a can of never dull today and trying. I believe it should look like galvanized metal. Glenn I would be a little concerned with trying vinegar as it might etch molding.
