the tops of my running boards aren't too bad but the channels underneath are pretty rough....rusty ripped holes etc. have there been any posts on repairing or replacing the channels. i don't want to replace them if i can repair and save what i have.

Mine are the same way. I should buy some Rootlieb running boards, but haven't decided yet. I've never seen the channels repaired, but I know some guys on here that could do it.

i looked at my running boards again today and they are not too bad except a couple of the "keyholes" where the bolts go are torn. i think i will make a couple of the key holes in a piece of #20 sheet metal and tig them over the bad places unless someone offers a better solution. next question... how is the best way to remove the old rubber matting from the running boards? a ,lot of it is gone, but what is there is stuck tight, like it was molded to them. it doesn.t want to turn loose with a scraper.
