Running Board Removal?

Hey gang,

I have a 46 Business Coupe and I want to pull off the running boards to do some rust busting underneath... The boards are a little rusty but still seem soild, however the bolts are pretty bad. One bolt actually came out nicely, but the other ones are just spinning pretty bad.

The nut or whatever holds the other end appears to be enclosed inside the rocker box(?) and I can hear it spinning.

any advice on removal? Do i just need to grind the bolt heads off? The rocker box on the Pass side is actually in amazingly good shape with very little rust through. Driver side has some issues.

Grind off the heads of the bolts. You won't get them off if the cage nut is spinning. Drake and others have the new cage nuts and they can be welded or pop riveted back into the rocker box.
