Running Board Moulding - late '31

I note that the Bratton's catalog carries the Sept. '30 to EOP running board with a stainless steel moulding. For some reason, I believe that the trim was originally zinc. In fact, I purchased the zinc trim from Bratton's about twelve years or so ago. The zinc finish deteriorates badly over time. Is there a product on the market that can restore the finish? SS is easier to maintain, but I don't believe that it would be correct for fine-point judging.

We use Mother's mag wheel polishing compound. It makes them a little shiny which may not be acceptable to many at 1st but cleans all the stains. The zinc does dull overtime.

Mike, your search capabilities are certainly superior to mine! Thanks for the lead. Do you happen to know the source as to whether Henry used zinc for his running board mouldings or not?

According to the good book, chapter 13 page 12, and I quote,

RUNNING BOARDS
All running boards (except for commercial models) were
sheet metal with rubber matting and zinc edge trim.
