RUMORS about Brookville ??

Without starting something- heard rumor about Brookville's business. ??? Newc

Newc, they always came to Goodguys show in Pleasanton, CA.. Did not see them this year. Actually the number of vendors there was way down from previous years.

The costs of traveling, vendor spaces, motels, salaries, food, plus time away from the business, etc. take a big slice out of any possible sales. I remember Dick Spadoro telling me what his costs were, and why he stopped bringing his big trailer to the York NSRA meet. He could no longer justify his expenses to go there

They are listed as vending at The Triple Crown. I did 8-10 NSRA & Good Guys shows as a vendor for 16-17 years. In the early 90's I started with 24 ft bumper pull and did 2 chassis in a 10 X 20 booth and was gone from Tuesday thru the following Monday and the show expenses were around $2-2500. By the time I quit doing shows I was pulling a 36 ft enclosed 5th wheel with 3-4 chassis with a diesel pickup. My booth space alone was $2500, Motels had went from $125 when I started to $250-$300 when I quit. Also I was a one man band. I can't phantom what it costs for Brookville to pull their 18 wheeler plus 3-5 workers, food and motels for Brookville to do a show. I assume with the current economy sales have slowed a bit?

What are you covertly implying? Did you hear a rumor about them? Are you having difficulty reaching them and asking about potential rumors? Are you just looking for gossip and rumors about them?

What's your real question?

Are they [Brookville] doing ok ?? Not implying anything!! Can kill the local rumor mongers stories. Newc

Haven’t heard they weren’t doing okay. I don’t think they make the A truck beds anymore, but that’s a part supply issue, not a brookville issue.

The rear crossmember/stake pocket unit for the A bed was made by Metal Fab Engineering... the same ones who dropped the ball on 32-40 bumpers.

i wondered what happened to the bumpers. i need a pair for my 36 badly.
nobody has anything. kick plates seem to be gone too. i just figuered i would buy them when the project was at that point and not have them in my way.

A lot of things seem to be going away, and quickly. I'm in the same boat on some parts, ones I thought would be around when I needed them aren't. I think a lot of the tooling will be thrown out too since some is made by one man or other small operations that are shutting down.
