Think this conversion over very carefully. Who will ride in the rumble seat? Do you want them climbing over your fenders and quarter panels scuffing their shoes on the nice paint job? Rumble seats are not easy to get in and out of so scuffing the paint is just a matter of time. If you use the car to go on tours, etc. you will lose substantial luggage space, plus it's difficult to remove anything you carry back there. You will also have the increased risk of water leaks into the trunk area due to the lack of a rain gutter at the bottom of the trunk opening. I've had two rumble seat cars over the years and would never own another one. They really don't add to the value when you go to sell them and may even be a detriment to a potential buyer. The conversion is not cheap and I would say don't waste your money.

I always considered them dangerous to the occupants, but I know a lot of others disagree.

I would never allow a passenger to ride in the rumble seat of an automobile that I was driving.

Please don't do it. Find a car that has a rumble seat already.

Going from a rumble seat to a trunk is a much easier conversion than the way you would like to go. I am so short rumble seats are useless to me but then again, I am not into the totally stock world .... my avatar was a rumble and my present 5-window project ....

The Rumble Seat completes my 36 Ford Cabriolet for concept and talking point as original to the car. I have photos of Grand Kids in the seat but it is only for photo op I never would risk their safety driving down the road.
