Rumble Seat Back Rest Fasteners

Does someone have a picture of what the 'clips' look like that are used to hold the rumble seat back rest to the deck lid? What goes in the slots in the top and a bracket for sheet metal screw holes at the bottom?

I have checked around and I'm wondering if they were originally integral with the back rest springs or frame. The back rest I have is in great shape, but right now I don't know how to attach it to the deck lid.

I don't have a picture but the backrest spring does have two clips installed on the top edge which engages the slots that you see in the rumble seat lid. The bottom of the spring has two tabs with holes for the 12-24 round head machine screws which retain the bottom of the spring to the rumble lid. There should be two "D" nuts swaged in place on the rumble lid to accept the retaining screws. Gar Williams

Gar's right about the clips; small strips of bent steel that are machine-screwed with nuts to the frame of the spring. They fit into the slots at the top of the deck lid. My kit was from LeBaron Bonney. I never attached the rumble seat backrest permanently because when we travel I take out both cushions to make room for luggage. If I can find my camera, I'll get a pic to you.

the upper seat frame has two little tangs that slip into the holes you mentioned
the lower mount has an oblong hole which is screwed to the "D" nut thats in the bottom indents
so you hook the two upper mounts into the slots and then screw the lower two into the D nut
one picture shows a broken lower mount in the rumble lid
it just shows the correct screw and washer

Thanks for the pictures. It looks like they are riveted to the seat frame. My frame only has the holes remaining. The question now is, where can I buy a set.
Also, on the inner deck lid, there are only 2 small holds in the bottom indents. It looks like someone may have at one time used sheet metal screws to attach the bottom clips to the deck lid.

Any help is appreciated.

I called Synders this morning. They make their springs in house and knew exactly what I need. They are not in the catalog but they do sell them separately. I should have them next week.
Thanks guys

you can buy the D nuts also, and using a hevy piece of metal (like a body dolly)to back them up ,and a ball peen hammer just form them in place
should take just a few minutes apiece to do

I ordered the D nuts. I don't know what they look like, so I'm not following what you are saying. Once I get them next week it may be obvious. Otherwise, I'll be back.
Thanks
