Ruidoso MAFCA meet

I recieved an email suposedly from mafca that due to the wildfire the meet has been cancelled. (June 18 from Robert L. Bullard, 2024 mafca President. Anyone else receive that bit of info? It had the mafca logo and all.
 
Prayers go out to all the folks that lost everything in the fire Very Sad!! Wishing the best to all the first responders! Be Safe!! Many homes Have been lost!
 
I received an email this morning that the meet was cancelled due to the fires. All fees will be refunded. Anyone else receive this? Came from mafca?

I'm in Danville, CA and in the roster. If you would like to come by for a bit I have indoor parking and a vacant king sized bed. Dave Mc Arthur
 
Refunds can be requested by sending an email to southwestmodelas@gmail.com. But don't expect anything soon as they are overwhelmed. I am wondering if the club could get some economic relief from a government agency, since this is a state and possible federal declared disaster.

I would be nice if there was some disaster relief for groups having events canceled do to this situations. The hosts have spent thousands of dollars on upfront items/supplies that through no fault of theirs can't be reused. Some of the supplies (food stuff) may be redirected to local relief, which is a good thing. Still the cancellation will result in significant financial loss.
