1953 f100 flathead fordomatic 6 volt pertronic high energy coil stromberg 48. I'm having a terrible time getting my truck to run correctly. I suspect the Napa plug wires are part of the problem. Also,the Champion plugs are the resistor type. The engine has been completly rebuilt and includes a three quarter cam and a period Merc crank. I suspect the carbon wires and resistor plugs. Where can I buy premium wires and what plugs do you recommend? I"ve run heavy copper wires directly from the batterie to the ignition and ground (possitive) to no avail. This sittuation is getting me down!

I would suggest a converted Chevy points distributor from Bubba's so that you have centrifugal advance and vacuum advance. If you are running stock distributor in combination with the Stromberg 48 there is no proper vacuum signal and you have no advance at all. ..B.

Thanks Barlea,He cant get proper vacume for the loadamatic dizzy from a strom. ken ct lol.

You didn't mention the heads. If you have some aluminum ones, check the plug reach. Those Champions may not be long enough. For good wires, check www.thepitstopgary.com/
