Rotor gap

I noticed my rotor gap was almost 0.61" as opposed to:

and notice some signed of arching on the body's contact points so
I had a new body so I put it on... No issues, 0.28" gap... Has anyone taken solder or brass and built up the contacts? Think the old body is fine just the contacts are worn...

Rather than building up the contacts it is easier to bend the metal on the rotor to close the gap and then file down the contact if necessary to have the .025 gap.

I saw that about bending but my gap appeared a tad too large to me for that.. Also, I was wondering if in the past the rotor had an adjustment to "tune" in the gap? Yes it spins fast but a good mechanical design take in account for that.

NEW rotors & distributor bodies are NOT that expensive. If you BROKE, call 1-800-BUSTER T! He has $$$$$'s buried somewhere???

Yep.[solder]. But not on a Model A. There was a time when I liked that gap as small as possible.
I'm wondering why your gap was that large.
