Roof Installation Question

:confused:Started installing the chicken wire yesterday on my 28 tudor and I am a little puzzled . At the very rear of the wood if ,I fasten the wire in the obvious groove, it will be 3/16 inch lower than where the top will be tacked.Is the top material just streched over this gap or is thicker padding added there? Need to know before adding padding

I pulled all the old staples and re-tacked the wire with monel staples.Then put down two layers of micro-fiber quilt padding.It compressed nicely and,I believe,it not being cotton,will not absorb moisture (should there be any).Looks better than I had hoped it would,after putting the top on in a nice Virginia sunny day.
