Rollie Rebers Auction This Weekend

Just wondering if anyone is going to this Auction that might be open to car pooling. I'd really like to go but don't particulary want to go alone. I remember Rollie from the '70s. I understand there is an Auction preview on Friday from Noon to 7. Since I'm not really looking to buy anything, I'd be happy to go either day.

Went to the auction with my dad who is 81 and restoring a '39 Deluxe. Drove 7 hours plus down from Canada. Was a great day for an auction with the temperatures in the low 80's and the air filled with corn dust from all the combining goin on in the area. Sale went fast and furious with lots of parts sold by 4:30PM. One sad note was seeing a 40 Ford coupe that was bought for $22,000 and being trailored out from the sale getting involved in an accident less that a half mile away from the auction. Was knocked off the hauler with some obvious damage but no one was hurt, lots of fire trucks and ambulances, though. Dad did buy some parts (fuel pumps and fuel pump stands and a pallet of gaskets including lots of NOS Genuine Ford parts) and I picked up some old oil cans and a 39 Ford Maintance poster which I will frame and give to my dad for Christmas. All in all a great weekend getaway/roadtrip with my dad.

I wanted to go and check out the trannys, but couldnt get away with the long drive (15 hrs). Any idea how the trans stuff went?

It was hard, but I skipped it also. I know if I would have gone, I'd have bought stuff and I don't really need more right now as I might have to move my shop as the city wants to expand it's maintenance facility next door. Not a pretty thought!
