Rod Cap Nuts

OK, last newbie question for the day! What is the recommended fastener(s) for the rod cap nuts? I think I see that the stock piece is a little stamped steel thing. Is it better to use nyloks, locktite, etc?

I prefer not to use those stamped nut locks. To me they and cotter pins have no place in an engine. I torque the nuts to 40#. If you are unsure and want some added security and peace of mind, then get some "seeping" Loctite and put a drop on each rod bolt thread. Just my way of doing it.

I use ARP nuts for SBC torqued to #4o on 21A and #45 on 28A AND 8ba.
