Rocker Panel Removal

Yes,you hsve to unbolt the body, remove the bolts, and jack that side of the body up a half inch or so.Then there should be a couple of flat headed bolts just holding the apron to the frame.Remove them, and the aprons should slide out.Sometimes they will kind of glue themselves to the frame welting, and you will swear they are still bolted on.

Hello, also watch for the shims on body blocks also , supposeded to be nailed to the wood blocks but sometimes are just sitting there, after restoration and fall out when pulling running board splash aprons out ,I have a 31 and aprons are held on to frame near front and towards rear with large headed carriage bolts 1/4. -20 thread carriage head on top . Sometimes you have to cut the nut off because the bolt will turn with nut , good luck.

I ran into the same issue while prepping my roadster for paint......wanted to remove the panels but after realizing the body needs to be lifted to do it, these panels are going to be painted in place.
