Just finished installing a NOS rocker arm oiling kit (passenger side only) on my '56. I am pretty much convinced the cam bearing isn't aligned properly and am not going to tear the motor down for that right away. I have the line run so it is not real obvious but I'm sure some old Ford guy will spot it next year at the shows. At least it is period correct
One question before I button things up. Where is the overflow tube supposed to point? As found mine was dumping into the second pushrod hole from the right (remember, this is the passenger side of the car, overflow tube is in the front). If I rotate the tube it will naturally point to the drain passage in the lower right side of the head. Is this where the cam chain gets it's drip lubrication?
I get a nice easy flow of oil with the kit at idle. All rockers are getting oil, output of the overflow tube is good but not excessive, and the oil drains without coming up over the valve cover surface. Hasn't seemed to hurt my oil pressure either. I am aware of the pressurized rocker mod but want to keep it the way it is for now.
Thanks!
Rick
