Rock Moss Green

1929 Driver

I have a 1929 CCPickup named Emma. Emma is original, very unrestored, runs great, is painted the origiinal Rock Moss Green, but needs some cosmetic surgery and then a repaint. I live in Alameda, CA and can't seem to find a paint store that has any information whatsoever on the paint code. Anyone have any paint sources where Model A questions are not answered with blank stares?

Thanks, Ken

I just painted my 29 ccpu Rock Moss Green a couple months ago. The paint codes are Dupont paint L8621 or PPG 117. I used the PPG paint and it looks good.

A friend painted his RPU British Racing Green years ago. It's not a bad match. I don't know if anyone has ever challanged him on the color.

If it is the original paint, personally I wouldn't touch it. You only get original paintwork once. One day there will be none left.

On my phaeton that I had painted in 1965 using lacquer when I wanted to get some touch up paint I took a piece in to the paint shop and they used their computer to match it. The match was perfect, I even got an extra bit in a rattle can so can spray parts if I want to match the car with something.
