Roadster vacuum hose hookup

People: Can anyone help me with some photos of how the vacuum hose goes from underneath the dash to the wiper? Is there a hole in the stanchion for any of the mounting? Does the hose just stay outside of the body where the hose goes to the piping?? Any help would be very much appreciated in this matter.

Bob - Thank You for a most informative posting of the relevant pictures. This should help me along the way with this portion of the wiper motor installation!!
 
Guys Thank You to everyone who replied. I finally found a solution to the hookup problem. I have used both a pipe as well as a hose. There was a vacuum pipe set up that I had bought for my truck and subsequently misplaced. The answer for me was to use a section of the bent pipe to go through the firewall. The remainder of the way the hose is quite taut, and should be O.K. The underside by the tank was crowded already with wiring, brackets, etc. If this is of help to anyone, I am glad to share.
