road draft tube

The way I understand it fresh air goes into the motor through the oil filler breather cap then exits the motor through the road draft tube.

i does both. Tha angle cut at about 45 degrees at the bottom rear of the road draft tube creates a vacuum when the car is moving. This pulls in fresh air through the vent breather and evacutates the fumes and condensation from any blowby. Frank

Thar is a wire mesh filter ,but you can't eliminate it with out putting a PCV system. You would not have any breather system for the crankcase. Bill

sludge also lays in the bottom of canaster and should be cleaned when filter changed.two phillips screws hold it to block.
