Rivet Tool Question

I see numerous antique rivet tools on ebay, workbench mounted and hand held. Is there a particle one that works better to rivet brake shoes?

This style works great but takes up more room then a bench mounted unit. This also arches the shoes. The small curved bench mounted units do work OK & are very reasonable.

I have got to say a kick rivet machine is much better then the other machines I have used.

I have done them with the cheap hammer tool and the hand riveter from days of old.

The kick riveter lets you do a clean and very tight rivet and can be used for other rivets like those on the hood.

The other tools do the job fine, but if you have access to a kick rivet tool it is worth extra effort to use it.

I use one that fits in a vise . I got it from Brattons several years ago and it works good for me . I used it on all of my brakes and a few free jobs for others.
