Ring gear again

Everyone keeps saying the bevel goes to the rear of the car. My new ring gear has a bevel on the inside of the gear and the teeth are beveled. I think I go with the bevel on the teeth, but want to make sure

Not sure how your gear is made but I would think the bevel on the inside
of the gear would go towards the front of the engine and the bevel on the teeth
would go towards the rear.

Not sure what you mean as the ring gear really only fits and works one way...and is on the drivers side axle housing. There is a good strong Model A group down in the Springfield Missouri area. Here's a link to one of the clubs.

Also.. .Rick Smith owns Battelfield Antique "A" parts and he should be able to help you as well with parts and info.

It would appear that we are confusing the starter "ring" gear with the differential "ring" gear.

Which is it???

Face the rear AND the starter pinion (which faces front and is pulled forward on starting.)

Let no question go unanswered.
