rewiring, removing steering light switch

I am new to Model A's after working on many classic cars. I can not find in my repair manuals any specifics on how to remove the horn light switch and rewire it All light and horn wires are gone. I assume buy a wiring harness complete and just plug it in to the bottom of the steering column? Thanks from a novice

That is about it. The Harness will come with the contact plate that fits right into the switch housing at the bottom of the steering column. You may also be missing other parts of the switch. A Good parts catalog will show these parts.

Chris.

Also, scrutinize the fit to contacts on the plastic contact plate on the new harness. Some are not well made, and you may want to transplant the wires to the old plate if you have one.

Agreed. New wires are great, new plate and spider stink. Will be replacing with UOS plate and spider.

While you've got everything apart, consider installing relays for the headlamps. A lot of heat builds up in the switch when the lights are powered.
