Want to re pull all/most of the wiring in my 1950 F-1. Really want to find the harnesses that have the old style jacketing on them. It looks like braided clothe. Short of finding a a donor truck or making all of my own harnesses- anybody know the best place for electrical on our vehicles?

I got all new wiring for my '48 F-1 from Rhode Island Wiring. All orders are made to order. Before they started they called me on the phone and went through what I wanted/needed in detail. No surprises! They do have an on-line catalog. I got every inch of wiring in the truck (including battery cables) replaced. I also had them include turn signals in the harnesses (including adding a right tail light) - as if Henry had done it that way. Very capable folks! BTW, I think the whole shebang was a little over $1000. Good value.

I just bought some of the old style wire loom to run power for an electric fuel pump. You can find a selection of different sizes on Amazon. Search for "fabric wire loom". The stuff you want is braided cotton with asphalt covering to stay like original, not the black nylon. Most of the ads are from a company called Pico. Each size is offered in various lengths.
I ordered mine from Bratten's Antique Auto Parts in Mt. Airy, Md. because they sell by the foot. Hope this helps.

I did cloth wiring in my 52 f1 and bought it from the major repro places. The weird part is none of them have a package with all of the pieces you have to buy them separate. Also the 5 star cab has things that the standard does not like dome light and electric wipers so maybe that is the reason to not bundle them. Each vendor did not carry all pieces. The good news is they were all of high quality and even tho I bought the pieces from different vendors they are all made by one company. Cloth is not cheap but I do like the look. I bought pieces for 53-55 trucks and added them easily in order to get a factory look for turn signals as the 52 did not come with them.

I was not aware of the other suppliers mentioned above except Rhode Island have bought other stuff from them.

I second Lawson on Tyree Harris, he has all the parts and is easy to work with and is also very helpful plus will gladly take back anything you don't need. I have done three vehicles with his harnesses.

Three suppliers I have used and happy with, Tyree Harris good product, good man and the best prices.Rhode Island wiring is the best but the most expensive. If you need different wiring supplies and a catalog to figure it out,John Brillman,www.brillman.com

I bought the braidede loom at Orielys auto parts. The counter person did not know they had it but found it on their web site. Special order delivered in one day to the store with no shipping.
