What Me Worry?

Retirement is just like being a kid again, only with a bigger allowance!

Me Too! 12 years. Everyday is Saturday and I ain't got no money! Seriously, I can't figure out how I had the time to do anything when I was working.
Regards, Terry

Congrats! I have been retired since 2004 and enjoy it very much. The secret is to have hobbies and interests. I see many people here in Florida that are around my age (65) that seem to constantly be searching for somthing to occupy there time. I Keep busy with fun things like the old car hobby home improvement, tiki bar lunchs, etc.....

I am in my second year of retirement.

I dont know how I got anything done when I worked....hmmmmm maybe I didnt...LOL

Pace yourself...you wont get all the work list done in the first day/week/month so take your time.

Trust me...there will ALWAYS be something to do...

Just dont vegetate in front of the TV too much...those are the guys that dont last long and take the one way trip in the hearse.

Congrats Clyde. Like some of the guys mentioned above, being I am so busy after retirement, I don't know how I ever had time for work in the past life.

My wife already knows that when I retire I'll be busy restoring more Model A's. That's why we're adding on to the garage. Good luck in your retirement and enjoy the ride. In the A as well.

Congratulations Clyde. Time passes fast in retirement. I retired in 2004 and it seems like yesterday. I've sold some of my cars but still have my 29 Special coupe that I restored back in 1980, a 30 roadster that I put together from scratch in 2008 and a 56 VW that I'm still updating. These are all drivers and are fun to get into when I'm not out in the back lot cutting trees with my 1930 A doodlebug. Some fun, enjoy!

I was retired under protest in 2004 bosses sons did like me. Don't protest any more as a matter of fact it pi**ed them off after I told them Thanks. Any way now it's like I have to find work for 5 weeks a year because it's turn around vacation all year with 5 weeks of work. Like I hope you enjoy your retirement a lot harder then you worked.

Been retired about 22 months now :) ! Every day is sat for me. But still get up between 4:30 and 5:am ,Just like i did for 32 years of working on the line for GM :( Didn't need a alarm clock then and don't use one now!
Maybe someday I'll sleep in :D Enjoy life and stay healthy!!!

I've been telling the Young'ns to plan in advance for their retirement with something in mind other than, "I'm not going to do anything". That doesn't work. What you need is a Hobby even if it is in the form of a Hobby Job. BUT, I have learned that the fellas who have Model A's already have a retirement activity. They're the ones who have it right.

WAY TO GO "A'ers"

Congratulations Clyde!!! Retired two years ago this month and have enjoyed retirement very much. Wife and I have done a lot of traveling since retirement and plan to do as much as possible before health issues prevent it. Wonder how I ever found the time to do all the things that I did while working. Was very luck in that I was able to work part time from home for about two and a half years prior to retirement. Kept telling my managers that I got more done in 32 hours at home than I ever did in 50 when working at the site.
Have started doing a lot of volunteer work at church, TU and other organizations in the community. Time to give back while I can as there is such a need with the economy the way it is and so many people in need. We see more new people every week at our Food Bank than need assistance.
Good luck in your retirement and enjoy every minute.

At 72 Yrs, Ive been retired for a couple of yrs, but still do a few ice machines. And I am not at a loss for things to do, enjoy a nap and sleep well at night. Some good advise is don't stop what you enjoy doning, and do a little of it every day. I still drive the old girl every day. I'm the only guy down here that has a truck older then him, and driven daily. Iceman
hey Iceman...this is Otto...is that my old 29' pu with out any fenders???? send more pix of it...

Been retired since 1986 and now can't figure out how I ever had the time to go to work each day! Remember how school vacation days in the summers felt? Ahh!

Funny, my count down clock says 505 days or 43641212X seconds. It can't go to fast enough at this point, I won't be rich and shouldn't be hungry...as long as I don't get tired of bread and water.
