Restpration time with Dad

Working on a project with your Dad sits at the top of the list. I am really enjoying restoring his 1930 Model AA Ford. He wasn't able to use it for long after he got it many years ago. It sat and rusted even more. It will be like new when we are finished. We began building the 6' x 12' flatbed today. The best part about that is we cut the monster poplar trees about 3 years ago, hauled them to the mill, dried them in stacks, planed them, cut them, and sanded them. From live tree to a beautiful bed of an antique truck. Chassis is complete and rebuilt engine is ready to install. Body work next. Thanks for the time Pop!!!

Scott great post and thanks for sharing.....enjoy time with your Dad.....love your shop and all those other toys.....

You made a good choice using poplar. Once properly dried it is like concrete. My father-in-law built his house from it. Forty years later I could not drill through it to run new water and power lines.

I like that original AA deluxe front bumper. But I REALLY like that nice Farmall H. Nice work on the truck.

Great build you have going on there! Be sure to keep us posted as you go. Nice collection in the background as well!

Great work on your historical restoration project... Amazing to see shots of just how large an AA front drums are. Thanks for the post.

That really looks good. How come you changed the hand crank bearing
to the 32 style with the big hole in it?
