A number of you have asked about the 1920 Seagrave fire truck I'm helping to restore for our city. This web site will give you the big picture.
Right now, we're close to doing a test run of the Cross flow L head engine. After that, we need to raise big $ in order to pay a guy to do all the gold leaf work on all the sheet metal I restored. (850 hrs on that alone!) There is a LOT of gold on this baby. here's the site. http://www.livermorehistory.com/

Hello Jim I am glad to see the old truck coming back to life! I am a Firefighter for the City of Church Hill in Tennessee and also a fan of the old firetrucks and firefighting equipment, I say to all of you great job!!! Robert DeBord

Jim,

The Reliance Fire Company Fire Truck Museum and Antique Fire Truck Restoration Facility in Estes Park (Colorado) may be a good source of information if you need anything. Their Web-Site is: http://www.reliancefiremuseum.org/index.html.

Doug Klink (who runs the operation) gave us (Model A Ford Club of Colorado) a demonstration in the Gold Leaf process during a tour last year. Simple to those that know how, but isn't everything. I would suggest you contact Doug via their web-site regarding your restoration. He is really a nice guy and very helpful and would be a good source of information.

Bob
