I just finished restoring this example of the last generation of Ford flathead V8 3-brush 6v generators. This is a 1938-1939 style.

The main difference from the earlier V8 generators is the main bearing. The earlier style used an 8-part double row tapered roller bearing (much like a car's front wheel bearing arangement). This generator has a larger diameter shaft and uses an extra large 6303 ball bearing, the same as used on the heavy duty truck double sheaf pulley generators. These are readilly identified by looking at the pulley end of the main body. The edge of the body where it meets the fork mount is radiused or rounded. The earlier 3-brush generators are cut straight.

This one was stripped and parts bead blasted. The armature was tested and the commutator serviced. It has new field coils, brushes, bearing, wiring, insulators and paint. A correct adjusted and refurbished original Ford cutout is installed. It has been bench tested and is ready to install.

$375 with core exchange. Insured shipping to a US address is $35.
