I recently restored a 1932 V8 generator and thought I'd share it with you. As Im sure you know, it is a one year only generator. The post mount was only used in '32. It is very correct with a proper, refurbished original Ford cutout. It even has the one year only long through bolts with the oddball oval type heads. It was taken completely apart and most parts bead blasted, then painted semi-gloss black as original. The armature was tested for opens, shorts and grounds, the commutator was serviced and the windings sealed with glyptal. The field coils were stripped, tested, rewired rewrapped and re-tested. It has new sealed bearings, bushing, wiring, insulators, hardware and oiler. The original cutout was disassembled, cleaned, points dressed and adjusted. The air gap was checked, then the points closure voltage was set to 6.5 - 7.0 volts. The unit was bench tested and the 3rd brush set to 4-6 amps for normal daytime driving. It is turnkey, ready to install.
