Restoration Radiator Cap

In the restoration of a radiator cap, is there a method used to separate the stainless cover from the rest of the cap in order to remove dents?

I’ve not done one but seen one done. It’s very tedious to get the skin off and damage is very possible. Experience is key.
They’re in the swap site restored right now. You’ll be hours ahead to buy one
Imho

Sorry…caps in swap are gas caps. But restored are out there. Find phonconn on here, he’s selling out. As is Jersy mike…he has one on here now.

My mom's saying favorite is "Simple once known". It is the experience that I wish to gain. I am just curious if there is a speacial technique used, if it is a friction fit and/or soldered together.

it all depends on what year and type of cap you are talking about. I have restored over 100 caps. and most of them you can take apart. depending on the cap. I can walk you through taking one apart. I have around 100 caps in stock.
