Hi all,

Is there a way to get a repop ign. switch off of the armored cable? I would like to send this one in to get worked on by a lock smith to make sure everything is in working order key wise. Is there a way to make sure this thing works? I have continuity from the little screw stud on the side to the dist. end. I am going to use it as a spare while my original one gets restored and that is all.

You already checked it for continuity, so now check the stud to ground to make sure you have NO continuity when the switch is turned on. What is the locksmith going to do? He shouldn't mind if the cable is left on the switch.

BTW, if you have to remove the head nut to remove the switch cable, be sure to tighten the nut right away, so you don't get coolant into the cylinder. That's what took out the babbit on a newly rebuilt engine on one of our club memeber's cars.
