I went to replace the points on my 30 model and new ones fit loose and a little short not a lot short just did not set straight is there a common set I could try
replacing points

When you replace points on an original plate there are 2 small screws on the bottom for the fixed point bracket that are loosened and the bracket shifted to align the points.
The new points I have had to use (or try to use) generally have been of a much lower quality that the points that are being replaced (on any car), I have been getting better results by reconditioning the original points using a diamond knife sharpening stone to reform the contact surfaces.
