Removing Spare with Luggage Rack

I bought a 30 roadster with a rear mounted spare and a luggage rack and trunk.

Attempted to remove the spare from the mount and there is not enough room to pull the tire out of the space without having to remove the trunk and the rack.

The rack is chrome with wood slats.

The vendors sell extender brackets which do look different from the brackets that are on the car. Do these give enough space to pull out the tire? What have you guys done that also have the rack on the back?

Would appreciate your thoughts please.

I have the same thing on my sedan with the extensions. They need to be lengthened about another 3/4". Otherwise you will have to remove the trunk rack to get the spare tire off.

This is a Kariall trunk. I might have misspelled it.

I have the same problem with mine. I have the Kelsey Hayes 16" wheels and can't easily get to the lug nuts to get the spare off. I don't like the idea/look of moving the trunk back. I had thought of making some brackets that used heavy duty drawer slides to let it move back 6-8 inches - but then figured it would be easiest just to take the trunk off when/if I get a flat.

I had the same problem with the trunk and spare both on the back of my Tudor. I hit a few local swap meets and found a left-side, spare-mount fender. It really didn't cost too much and it sure added to the beauty of the car. LRF
