Removing Gauge Bezels

I would like to replate all the instrument face bezels on my 36. Are the bezels very diffulict to remov from the instruments. I was going to replate a 34 speedometer bezel but could never figure out how to remove the glass. Is the 35/36 speedometer the same way.

The bezels are not that hard to remove and replace. They slip on and have a little "***" squeezed into them where it will not come off easily. Simply pry them off gingerly and you should not have any trouble. Easy does it. Put them back on the same way.

The single gauges have 4 little tabs on one and 3 on the other that must be carefully straightened to remove the bezel. Reverse the proces to reinstall them. If you break off the tabs, you will have to glue the bezel back on. The speedometer bezels are fairly easy to remove. You do have to be careful around the areas where the pastic like material allows light into the speedometer...the metal is thin there and it is fairly easy to break. I have never removed the bezel from a dual gauge.
