Removing Engine and Transmission 36 Panel

I'm getting ready to pull a 59 AB engine with transmission out of a 36 Panel Delivery. I seem to know what to do in the front area of the engine.
What needs to be removed or disconnected at the rear of the engine and transmission ?
I did a search and didn't find much information concerning the rear engine area unless I was pulling the rear end which I don't plan on doing presently.
Never pulled an engine before !

There is a two piece collar that must be unbolted from rear of transmission and pulled back on the torque tube or completely removed. Then remove two mounting bolts that fasten the rear of the transmission to brackets riveted to frame. Lift the engine transmission assembly with a hoist and pull it forward. This should disengage the assembly allowing the universal to slide off the splined end of the driveshaft. Then lift the complete assembly up and out of the engine compartment.

If there are steady rods going from the frame to the bell housing you will need to loosen/remove these.

They have a 3/8" square indented head. Here are some tricks I learned form JM 35 Sedan while he was mentoring us on removing the transmission.

-Liberal use of Kroil or PB blaster on the frame in the area where the bolts are located.
-JM35 Sedan uses the best tool to start the bolts to unloosen, a hand-held impact driver.
-Once they are started a 3/8" drive swing bar or ratchet can be used.

Good point Henry. I forgot to mention those steady rods must come off before lifting the engine & transmission out. You must also remove the shift lever or the complete shift tower from the transmission.

Ok-I see a cover or or maybe it's the universal joint housing at the end of the transmission that I will try to unbolt and move back. The speedometer connection is just to the rear of this.

Didn't get to finish the post ?
I also saw the two long rods or threaded bolts that go from the frame towards the bell housing. These may be hard to get a wrench on.
The floor boards need to be removed around the transmission in the cab. I will remove these and have a better look.
Yes I will also remove the hood and radiator later on.
Does the transmission need a jack under it as I pull and lift the engine with a hoist from the front ?
Sould I leave the starter on the engine or remove it before I lift everything out.
I'm thinking that the more equipment removed from the engine before the lift may make things easier ?

I never removed those steady from the frame. I just removed the nuts on the front of the rods that go through the block and pull the engine ahead. Walt
