Removing an A engine head, using a commercially available puller

I would think that intentionally having a combustion with one or more valves open would not be a good idea. I have heard of backing off all head nuts and running the engine. But I think if that was such a good idea and so simple we’d all be doing it instead of fighting the head off some other way.

This makes more sense Jay Jay.

You don’t run the engine.

You remove distributor, head nuts, and top radiator hose. Than just hit the starter. Head pops right up.

No way the engine could possibly run.

Has worked every time I have done it. I’ve removed a lot of heads in 65 years. A couple of cars multiple times.

Enjoy.

This seems the easiest yet WHN. It's amazing what you can learn in sixty five years. Thanks for the tip!

Here's how I do it. My puller costs about 0.02 cents. This way, head comes off evenly. You can clearly see my calmness and confidence in this method.
