Removing a banger

You can use a chain and 7/16” bolts in the head stud holes in the block. Or as Tom says wrap rope or tow strap around engine. Hell I’ve seen a guy use strips of innertubes, added strip by strip until it lifts up.

If you make your own eyelet lifter, you
probably know what your are doing. If you find a couple in a flea market be careful. We found a nice looking pair and had them fail and drop the engine

Here's mine:

Try these,Caterpillar lifting links..rated,and will side load better than those eyes

Yes I got your pm. I replied. Thanks for the offer, I made some of my own, thanks for the offer

Tried using the search option and can’t find anything on removing a four banger. Where do I hook the hoist and what size bolts do I use to bolt the motor to the engine stand.

From the tone of your post my feeling is that you have absolutely no experience with a Model A.
Why are you removing the engine?

I will probably get an ear full for this. But I grabbed a couple 7/16 coarse thread bolts threaded through a chain big enough to take them. my good luck it was a piece short enough but just long enough. and put them in place of some head studs. the head was off because my overhaul started as a simple valve lapping. gone awry.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Mounted to stand. Time to get the frame cleaned and painted.
