Remove crankshaft pulley

I go from behind, underneath and off to one side with a long dull chisel (and hammer)... Point of the chisel or punch as close to the center of the pulley as I can get. It's a pretty steep angle, but this has always worked for me.

By gorry, Karl, that worked slick. Used an old Ford tire iron, hit it 4 or 5 times in about 3 places, not too hard, and it slid right ahead and the pan dropped right down.

Many thanks. Karl was my grandfather's name so I figured your advice would be solid.
