Remove Body From Frame

I can lift the front part of the body but not the rear. I removed twelve 1/4" screws from the rear of the body and fourteen 5/16" and 3/8" screws from the sides of the body but the rear won't lift. Do I need to remove something from the rear bumper brackets or the rear suspension?

You will need to take the rear fenders off. Also the rear bumper brackets. This is from memory so there may be more stuff to remove.

Thanks nkaminar, I did take the fenders off. On the bumper bracket, I see where six bolts, on each side, attach to the frame, but I see nothing on the fender brackets that attach to the body.

There are two stands that are riveted to the bumper brackets.Lay under the rear with a flashlight, and look up near the rear of the body.I believe you will see four bolts going upwards into the body.

Thanks Keith True, these are the three places where the bumper brackets are attached to the frame. As you can see on the stand, it is only attached to the frame, the bolt does not extend beyond the bottom of the frame. On the third picture the item attached to the frame is the front of the bumper bracket.

???? Your first picture clearly shows the body stands riveted to the bumper bracket, and the body bolted to them. There are two bolts on each body stand bolted to the body subframe. You have taken a perfect picture that shows that.

Keith, You are correct. John may have mistaken what looks like a frame member that is actually part of the body. John's photos have jogged my memory and I am now sure that I had to remove bolts from the bumper brackets to get my body removed. You would think that the bumper brackets would only be attached to the frame, but they also attach to the body.
