Remote filter again

When my 8ba block was drilled there was no consideration to which side of the car the filter would be located. Now I want the location to be on the frame near the passenger side adjacent to the ******. This caused a problem as to how the outlet from the block would reverse direction and travel to the filter. Locating the filter on the drivers side would be an easier path. I didn't want the look of the hoses and filter showing. On my block the stock location of the sending unit was maintained. The in and out locations are on either side. In hindsight I should have put the sending unit on the far left location and both in and out would point straight up. I just hope the cab doesn't hit the fixtures.

You could probably put the filter in the trunk and it wouldn't make any difference. In as much as this is the outlet to the filter, make sure it's hooked up to the inlet side of the filter.

51 Merc you are right. If I would have known when the work was going on I would have had it done that way. Too late now the motor is finished. I don't want to be drilling the block for fear of metal shavings going internal.

You can drill and tap after the motor is assembled if you need to.
Plug the oil galerys with the foam ear plugs, count them so you know how many are in, set up a vacume cleaner by the hole and suck the swarf away, then use a magnet, and air line to clean out the hole after taping, lastly take the plugs out.

It looks like all the work up to now is for naught. I did some measuring and no way will the hoses clear the firewall as shown. Going to plan B. The only issue is to miss the steering rod from the rack and pinion. That should work alright. Back to "Hoses and Fittings" shop.

All good suggestions but this way does not filter the rear main ,only the hole in side of the pan method does, but this requires drilling ,We are testing one now that does not requires drilling and filters the rear main .

I dont see what the deal is about the rear main not getting filtered oil.
It may not be getting oil direct from the filter but isn't it still getting the same filtered oil as the rest of the motor?
