After 3 years of exile in the flatlands, we have moved back to the mountains where we belong.

Just a heads-up for the small number of Barners who might care.......:rolleyes:
 
Some of the most beautiful country in the U.S. is in the Spruce Pine, N.C. area.
I built and had a log cabin in the Linville Falls community.
 
I'll take flatlands any day, I hate mountains, very few straight roads, just winding, twisting, up and down, back and forth, yuk. To me they're just big rocks that block the view. I've seen enough mountains to last me 3 lifetimes.

Years ago we moved from WNC (Mills River) to Delaware.. That WNC magnetism I don't think will ever leave, just a beautiful part of the state, the parkway does offer a scenic drive in Spring and Fall.! Just an opinion, kb
 
WV Mountains make a model a mechanic… 9% plus grades, switchback two lane roads force you to tune regularly.. brakes, engine you name it..keep the rpm in the sweet spot they pull hard..

Chris, post a picture of two of your new cabin complete with that large 'skylight' in the roof for folks to get jealous over! :D

I actually know of a couple of Model A people that were in the Spruce Pine / Plum Tree / Grassy Creek areas. You are about an hour to the East TN Model-A club area if you decide to do a few functions with them. They have a couple of members that travel from Boone and Mountain City area to participate, so definitely not a stretch for you. You are about an hour from me now if you are out 'loafing' and want to drop by.
 
I'm always interested when an owner of a classic vehicle tells me he's moving ... !

Gotten a couple of nice cars and bikes that way when there's no room in the new place .... ! :D

We live in Fletcher, NC....about a mile from the AVL airport. Always looking for someone to share info and stories with...
 
Welcome back to the “Old North State”. I’m in Lexington and you’re more than welcome to join with us in any of our events with the “Piedmont Region” of the MARC. I’m heading to Old Fort next week to look at a car. That is just south of you I believe.
