just exploring my car and saw that the pedal rubber nubs are falling off of the main pedals, I peeled them off and saw that the pads are actually red, they have turned brown on the outside, bright red on the inside, the coupe belonged to a guy who drove it in highschool until 1961, ever since then hidden in a wyoming garage, my question is are these a stock item or was there an aftermarket for A's in 40's-60's? my first bike a 1940 harley still wears red handle bar grips

What year is your car, does it have the multi disk clutch, left hand ot centered emergency brake? if your a is a early 28 it has red.

There are no red rubber pedal pads on early cars. Pedal pads are not in the 1/1/28 parts book. I believe pedal pads were all accessories, some authorized?, some not.
