Red Line Hose

Here are pictures of reproduction Red Line hose I purchased. For about 6 months I used 50/50 Antifreeze and Water. I decided to start using water and water wetter and after about another 6 months I noticed the upper hose was starting to collapse. I removed the hose and noticed that it had started deteriorating on the inside. The bottom hose didn't do this. I guess it's just a defective hose. I've now replaced them with Heavy Duty Gates Hose. Anyone else experienced this?

I just noticed that I have a 'very soft' lower hose (red line) - I just thought maybe it was caused from my oil cap breather blow-by.
I think I will need to investigate further after your photos

Walt Bratton found that inner tubes made of recycled rubber were the cause of all the problems with inner tubes splitting and falling apart.

I wonder if the same thing is happening with "redline" hoses?

Re: RE-VIST....Who makes the "Best" Tubes????

About 10 years ago we at Bratton’s started making our own inner tubes because we had issues with the tubes that were currently on the market.
When we had one of the tubes analyzed we found out that those tubes were being made with a high percentage of recycled rubber, and the thickness was severely lacking.
So when we had ours made we had these tubes made with 100% new rubber and much thicker for longer life.
Since we have started making and selling our own tubes the failure rate has decreased. I know the tubes are a bit more expensive than the others on the market, but we have had much better success with them.
