For my light wiring harness for my 28 Phaeton and early 29 Tudor with drum taillight I went to Sacremento Vintage Ford, as they make their own harness, and make the correct long taillight wire. For later cars I've bought harness from Bert's, Bratton's, and Snyder's and liked them all.
Are you building a show car or a driver? Will you want turn signals etc.? If show car there is Tyree Harris (804) 556-5200 we just used him for the phaeton project very nice and correct early harness he called and asked questions to match the harness to the month and year.
Thanks Tom and John, it's being restored as a "driver" but with all the care and patience we can muster. Turn signals to be in the the cowl lights and two taillights. At home we have another A which is a 30 footer and a "driver". It has turn signals in cowl lights and in drum taillights. Those turn signals have been invaluable given the pace and speed of traffic here in the land sand and sun populated by ancients (include this critter), tourists, illegals (no license, no insurance señor) and transplanted New Yorkers.
Sacramento Vintage Ford is who I have used. As Tom said, they make all their own harnesses, and can do it to your specs; ie: 2 tail lights, cowl lights, turn signals, etc, etc. And it all looks/works like original cloth covered wire/harnesses.
I have spoken to Sacramento and also Rhode Island wire in length but one thing i did find out is that they told me they do NOT have the originals ends and If i have a show car and want them then I would have to supply them myself.. Strange..but then talking to Tyree wires, he stocks them, anyone else have this issue or any update ?
