Rebuld Vs Shock Conversion

I've managed to aquire a coupe sets of the adaptors that would allow me to put tubular type shocks on my '35's. I didn't buy them intentionally....they just happened to come with collection's of part's I purchased or was given. However, I prefer using the original Houdaille shocks on my cars, and I don't know of anyone better than Andy Falandes to rebuild these original type shocks. I know he was personally trained very well by the late Bill Wzorek, and I have never heard of any problems with Andy's work.

Yes sir!

I use early Camaro shocks front and back, and make my own brackets. However the stock springs are very stiff compared to a modern car of the same weight, It's hard to soften the spring rate and keep ride height the same. All of this is expensive, trial & error!!

I'm not sure if ford did anything special with their frames when they went to tube shocks in the front but I installed stock ford tube shock mounts in the stock shock holes on our '41 and developed hairline cracks radiating out from the holes. welded a plate to the outside of the frame. later went back to stock shocks to get a better ride. was almost like the frame was being twisted
