Rebuild starters

Who is the most qualified to rebuild an original 1941 V8 starter?Or if it is better to purchase a rebuild who is the best one to contact to obtain one.
 
Call Chestnut Hill Electric 1-717-445-4516 They have all the parts takes a day or 2 and I never had one that cost over $35.00 G.M.
 
The best place to contact is a local starter/generator rebuilder recommended by a local club member. Take it in and look them in the eye across the counter and tell them to replace everything it needs to have a trouble free unit for 100K miles. With that thought in mind, where are you located?

But you never mention what issues you have had. I have been using a Vern Davidson (Clifton Colorado)starter for three years,sure better than the one I had rebuilt locally. This is the second or third time you have posted negatively about Vern,what is the story?

I don't know what your problem is with Vern, (IF that's who you are referring to) and I could care less! I have not dealt with many people nicer and more professional than Mr. Davidson, and for you to come on here and repeatedly cheap shot him is pure crap! People Who issue "drive by" insults with little information are usually the problem, NOT the company or product.
