Hi

Im trying to dismantle my 1935 water pumps for a rebuild.

The pulleys are without a pulley pin and seams to be pressed on.

Can I press the propeller axel back in a vise where after the pulley will come off and the propeller can be removed from the back side ??

Please advise me - thanks!

I think you have the right idea; the picture on Van Pelt's site and pictures of the rebuild kits look like the shaft should be pressed off the pulley to the rear of the pump.

I have instructions on my web page for '37 to '48 water pumps and this might give you some general hints on doing the earlier pumps like yours.
Maybe someone who has actually worked on these will chime in.
