rear window leak

Have a rear window or trim leak right in the center that I can't stop. '59 Edsel has the chrome trim at rear of roof just above rear window. I think the leak is behind it and I can't remove the trim for fear of bending it or getting into something I can't fix. I have tried the 3m black and sealing around the screws in the trim and the liquid silicone around the rear window. Any unforeseen problems with running the liquid silicone between the trim and the roof or with this mess with the paint?
any other ideas?

thanks

use a clear silicone run masking tape slightly back from edge of roof do the same on molding let it tack up and pull the tape off should not effect the paint only problem will be clean up if you decide to replace rear glass in the future

It might not be the window rubber gasket that's leaking. Maybe there's a rusthole in the top underneath that trim piece where rain water is running between the top of the car and the bottom of the trim piece and it is draining down thru that rusthole. ???

Well... the caulk between the paint and trim stopped that one. Now I have a small one into the truck. The PO replace the rubber gasket in the window years ago and it doesn't fit very well. Will buy another tube of sealant and try to stop the the one in the trunk now.
thanks guys
