Rear wheel well patch panels

Yesterday I posted a want ad for a set of patch panels for my 29 tudor sedan, and so far no responses. All of the vendors are out and saying the manufacturer won't be able to supply any for 60-90 days.
Any one ever encounter this before, I appreciate all the folks that build reproduction parts, but I am wondering if I can count on them after the 60-90 day wait.
Anyone have a contact with one of the vendors to know if infact they are coming?
I have finally been making progress and hate to put the project off,
Thanks,
Kevin

Hey Kevin, FYI, this is a common occurance within the hobby. Several manufacturers do small lot quantity runs of panels and they follow strict scheduling. Often times these panels are done on scheduled fill-in between other projects. For example, lets just say that the cycle time for making Tudor inner panels is every 60 days because other type panels (floor pans, seat risers, etc.) fall on other days. Just because vendors put in orders for Tudor panels, the manufacturer waits until the scheduled time to make the run. What you need to hope is that if the manufacturer only has the capability of running 100 sets of panels during the alloted schedule and there are 105 sets on backorder from customers who are waiting for them. If THAT is the case, you could very well be waiting for awhile!!

Or, ...you could do like we do and make them yourself.

Hi Kevin you will not find them look all over called everyone, was told the die broke, worst is they did not know if they were even going to fix it, anyway a fordbarner name Larry seemann save my bacon, yes you can make them but it was real easy just to install them post on swap meet good luck AL

The set I received several years ago are a poor fit along the bottom. I am using them to tranfer body brace holes from my qtr panels for the delivery to the replacement tudor qtrs. Likely could sell them in a week or two. Rod
