My 30 Roadster sits too high in the rear. To lower it a couple of inches, which leaf should I remove? I was thinking about the 4th or 5th one up from the bottom one. Maybe two leaves??
To lower the car 2" you need a lot more than removing one leaf. You need a different shaped spring or a reversed eye main leaf which are available at "A" springs.com
Lindy, Thanks for your input, I like your suggestion. However, I tried the website you gave - but it didn't work. Is that the correct address? Thanks, John

Try it without the quote marks, also try T springs .com. They advertise in the Restorer and Model A News. I bought a reversed eye main leaf from them and it fit good.
John, I found an ad for A springs. (www.a-springs.com) Travis M. Cook, po box 330322 West Hartford, CT 06133-0322

Most of the A suppliers offer springs. A new 7-leaf spring with the ends of the leaves beveled and some JD graphite paint between the leaves will soon support our Roadster -- soon as I replace the torque tube oil seal. I went through your decision tree a couple weeks ago and the advice came back very loud and very clear: don't mess with taking leaves out of the spring. Get the right one. Done that and expecting smooth sailing later this month!
