rear spring install

going to install the rear spring after getting some leaves to make it a 10 leaf . for my sedan... what do you use as a web pad for betweem thw spring , and crossmember? anything? . dont see anything listed , but have heard of something between in past.. what do you use???/. yes , painted the spring ,then graphited /greased it.. thanks ...kevin

I've used body webbing once, and also a piece of leather one time. I punched a hole for the center bolt.

I also use leather or a rubber pad..

Look along the roadways for a strap like the truckers use.I used a piece of that as it is tough and thin Or maybe you have a ratchet binder that you can take a part of.

There was no pad originally. Since it is a transverse spring, it is important that the spring be tight to prevent side sway.

I don't put anything there except a good coat of the heaviest grease I can find.

The vendors sell an anti-squeek pad for a buck and a half or so ...

I always just slober plenty of grease on both sides of all the leafs and wrap it in electrical tape. works great and the tape keeps the dirt out.
